Windows 7 Professional Thus, the 2 port controller was the one controlling the eSATA port in the back pane – and making trouble. The time now is CD drive won’t work, it’s old can’t install Windows 7. This problem annoyed me for ages until I figured out it was the controller! There is no entry in System that says anything like jmicron, etc. Any help will be appreciated, John Gerard.

Both ports on Motherboard. I even tried running under admin dirrectly but no difference.
I can’t find which driver is related to the jmicron. Not only that, but it also took away a major amount of resources. From the CD it installed the driver but does not recognize any drives attached to the controller card.

How to disable JMicron?
When running XP, all is well. I am having a hard time installing the drivers. The computer pta a Dell with the Intel x chipset.
My first guess was that there was a hardware failure. All 3 seem to perform about the same, once a disk is actually running, but Yesterday, while I was trying out my new hard drive, I noticed that it apparently took ages to defragment. This problem annoyed me for ages until I figured out it was the controller!
My computer is dual boot, XP and Windows 7. The hard drive didn’t show up at all – neither in the Disk Management nor in the Device Manager. There is no entry in System that pats anything like jmicron, etc.
How can this company still survive after producing so many years only junk?
