I found a different driver for the Asmedia controller.

The new Asmedia driver is not any better than the one that came with Windows I first thought it was a bad hard drive, but I tried the drive out on several other machines and it works just fine. In reply to sn0wdays’s post on February 18, Here are the links to drivers that work under windows 10 Asm1024. I have the same problem with the Nov built. Have you tried to update controller firmware? Tell us about your experience with our site.

At least two are available: Depending on the device ID that you can get under Device Manager, double-click the item that needs the driver, select Details tab and with the drop-down select Hardware Ids, you should see something like this: This one can be flashed on Windows.
All of these same external disks worked just fine on zsm1042 exact machine when it was running windows 7 Pro last week.

The externally powered disks were the Seagate Expansion 5TB Desktop class disks and these seem to work fine. It worked for a little while, but now its dead again. But under Windows 10, it started working only with my USB ub.
This thread is locked. Since the externally powered drives seem to be working, I think that somehow the driver is not allowing enough power to get to the ports.
